Made for another world

"If I discover within myself a desire which no experience in the world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world." C. S. Lewis

Five Minute Friday: Whole

It's Five Minute Friday once again. I'm linking up with Lisa-Jo at Gypsy Mama to write for five unedited, spontaneous minutes. Her prompt today: Whole.

Go:

Two fractured hearts uniting as one, full of hope and youth, vows spoken. But the years and fears took their tole. Great big cracks formed and sent fissures of pain and doubt shooting through hearts and relationships.

In time love between husband and wife, parent and child had worn thin. Life battered from the outside and self from within. What had once been a family was now a scattered broken mess.

But God, beautiful words, powerful truth. Compassionate hands that first created, reached in and patiently re-created. Cracks that once gaped he filled with himself. Hearts grown cold, he breathed life back into.

Through love poured out from great Savior heart, love pumped once more through a family's veins. The scattered collected, the broken healed. Celebration, a family made whole!

Stop.

In October 20011 our family and friends celebrated my parents 40th wedding anniversary. It was a milestone of grace that we put solely at the feet of Jesus. Perhaps you've been a part of a family that has been fractured or are in a marriage you don't think can endure. Let me speak a word of hope. But God. Despite our failings and pain, selfishness and fears hearts submitted to Jesus can be healed, relationships made whole, love reignited. Take your burden to him today and find mercy for your need.

If you would like to participate in Five Minute Friday swing by Gypsy Mama here: http://thegypsymama.com/ (I don't actually link up because it messes up the format of my blog.)
