I'm linking up with The Gypsy Mama for Five Minute Friday, a five minute unedited flow of words (I'm terrible at being unedited, I do correct spelling!). Today's prompt, Backwards.
Go:
After 34 years a heart can get crusty and tough. My thoughts drown out holy thoughts, moments too busy lose the beauty of now, eyes attune to duty miss wonder. But moments at the feet of a tender Savior are growing my heart backwards. Backwards in time to recapture mystery, the delight of childhood, the surprise of new.
Fresh eyes come in the backward moments of regenerated childhood. Reaching back to capture infantile grace. Not that I want to undue maturity and wisdom, hard won through experience. But knowledge without fresh eyes is stuffy and unapproachable. Oh for the balance of a timeless young heart stretching backwards in wonder and an ageless wisdom seeing down the road!
Stop.
What a lovely perspective! :-)
ReplyDeleteThat is very true. I find myself in the same thoughts often.
ReplyDeleteBy the way I love your header.
Simply Beautiful! I remember about 28 years ago praying for God to show me how to love Him like I did as a child. And He has! Your post so reminds me of that moment!
